Congrats to our Executive Board Member, Lauren Goepfert, on winning one of the prestigious "Teaching America250" Awards from the Jack Miller Center.

Lauren Goepfert is an AP U.S. History and U.S. history and government teacher at Longwood High School in Middle Island, New York. She is an experienced history educator with over two decades of teaching experience in New York and Florida. She has served on the National Constitution Center’s Teacher Advisory Board since 2016 and was honored with the Dr. Tom and Betty Lawrence American History Teacher Award in 2017.

In 2018, she was selected as a James Madison Fellow. Lauren also serves on the Executive Board for the Long Island Council for Social Studies in which she helps facilitate professional development for social studies educators and collaborates with historians and archaeologists on American Revolution research projects across Long Island.
Project Description: Students will visit Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center, Independence Hall, and Museum of the American Revolution to collect video and audio recordings to use in a Public Service Announcement highlighting the ideals of the Declaration and the American Revolution ahead of the 250th.
